When we serve the Lord, the enemy is always thinking up ways to sift us, God's people.. His aim is to keep us so focused on the trial at hand so that we lose sight of the abiility of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to take charge of whatever problem sent our way.
When the enemy comes in like a flood, God will raise up a standard against him.

Hi guys,

I have been thinking and praying lately about discernment versus judgment/having a critical spirit. Lately I have encountered circumstances or people where things are said and done that appear questionable. On the one hand, I don't want to jump to conclusions about what I see and hear, especially if the impression left behind is negative or suggests deceit. On the other hand, I don't want to put my head in the sand, either. So often I pray that the Lord would refine this ability in me ... to discern in the spirit, yet to be wise in my response so that I do not grieve the Holy Spirit.

This may not be enough information to help explain the dilemma I often have, but is it enough to spark a response from anyone? Other comments, perspectives, battles of this nature that anyone may have had?
