oh to be a Christian soldier said...

Here's my Share...I went to a cookie exchange the other day with some really lovely neighbourhood women. It was so nice, but..Firstly, I was disappointed that the 2 other Christian women that I know of didn't show. Where were they? Why was I again the only Christian in the group? My other disappointment was that as with the last get together, the enemy seems so very close (the conversation turned to mediums + psychics + other strange phenomenon). At a Christmas party?! I prayed right there and then for help from the Lord. I wish I were much more eloquent...more diplomatic...just More. I feel like I failed the Holy Spirit. I didn't know what to Say! And couldn't hear the Lord's instructions.

Upon reflection of that evening, it's like if you don't take your stand with Christ and pick the Right side, the evil one is there to court you!!! Meaning those who don't know the Lord, are woo'd and deceived.

I am praying that I become someone the Lord can be proud of, and one that can be used by Him to speak love and peace, and not get flustered when confronted by the enemy using the ignorance of those who don't yet know Him.

The first thoughts that came to mind as I read your post were how much I was able to relate to the insecurities expressed, how Christians are unfortunately capable of any human failing, and how blessed we are that God, His Spirit, and Jesus love us unconditionally and don't judge us as harshly as we do ourselves! They know our hearts, spirits and minds and we have been put into the situations we have been to learn from them.If what you've shared here isn't that you've learned something from your experience: ie that the evil one is always ready to take advantage of any tense or imperfect situation, and that God answers prayer in His perfect timing and often in unexpected ways. Perhaps you'll just have to wait patiently to be surprised by what you'll receive as a result of this uncomfortable occurence, and that it is not possible to disappoint God, because His strength works best through out weakness!
