Talk Tuesday- Lord Use Me!

For the last few weeks I have been hearing the message that time is short and we should really think about doing something that has some value for God. We are so caught up in the rat race of life that all we seem to do is work and pay our bills. We have been speaking to people our age and they have been saying that they have reached a crossroad in their lives. We have the house, the car and the big jobs but what is life really about? There must be more to life than this. If we knew that God was coming soon how would we live our lives? I know we have to work and pay our bills but what will we have to show when it is all over?

I heard a preacher ask, “If you had all the resources in the world and you did not have to worry about anything, what would you do?” What would I do? Is God stirring your heart? Do you want to do something that has Kingdom value? Share with us what God is speaking to you about.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 2 Peter 3:10

Amen & Amen! We all need to hear this. We live in a culture of "I'll do that tomorrow" but tomorrow may never come. We will worry about not missing the appointment to get our hair done instead of doing something for the Kingdom.

And I'm not perfect but as I matured and got closer to the Word, there was a pull in my heart to use the gifts that the Lord gave me for His work. And what does God do? He takes those gifts and amplifies them! I thought I was a pretty good singer who sang background vocals in the secular scene & in the church choir or the worship team. When I decided to move away from secular music scene and devote my voice totally to God's work, He put me with the right people, in the right places and at the right time. He amplified my little voice to most recently, a Worship Leader in my church. You go God! ALL the Glory is His!

Get in the Word. Ask God where you can give & serve. Then do it with all of your might! God will show up and amplify it for His glory. God is great indeed!

RubyintheWest,

Thank you for sharing your heart with us! It is so encouraging to read of your testimony...it is also inspiring.

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

The Lord is certainly using your life to sharpen the iron in ours and those around you. Thank you for exhorting us to GET IN THE WORD, too! May God be praised for His goodness and mercy!

Blessings to you,
Tash & Drew

I remember taking my young daughter to swimming classes and sitting next to me was a mother knitting away diligently. We struck up a conversation and I learned that she was a Christian. What impacted upon me our dialogue were her words, I try to utilize my spare time because it is my belief that "God will call us to account for every moment wasted and not used constructively." What comes to mind after reading your post is that if we had all the money in the world and were not in want for anything,what would we do?
Like our time, our money is God's. As Christians we are expected to tithe and use our finances wisely to the honour and glory of God. If the Lord should call us home at any time, He should be able to say, 'Well done, good and faithful servant."
However, unfortunately, many of us Christians, myself included, must be convicted that we need to do a little introspection. Are we prepared to surrender every area of our lives (our time and money) to God's directives or are we going to be like that rich man in the Bible who when Jesus told him if he wants to receive eternal life he must sell all he possesses and follow Him. That rich man walked away reluctantly.
Where are we in response to our time, treasures and talents.

I have had more of a burden lately for those caught up in human trafficking especially the young men and women we seem to lose in this country daily, someone knows where they are. I will support those who rescue them and will someday soon help to provide shelter for those who are rescued. That darkness they are living in bothers my soul.

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed

Psalm 37:5-7

Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.....

praise the Lord, yes?!.. . i know
:)

DQ,

Amen to that! Praise the LORD!!! And let all that we are, praise HIS Holy Name!!!

Anonymous #1, thank you for reminding us to surrender every area of our lives to the Lord, as good and faithful servants. I have been pondering this a lot lately.

Anonymous #2, May the Lord indeed use you in the area of rescuing the marginalized and oppressed, for HIs honour and glory.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly my calling for His purposes is, so in the meantime I'm just doing the best I can to love and encourage people particularly disabled ones through the volunteer work that I do for the local community living association here in Brockville. I am also trying to bless people by writing stories about some of personal experiences as I continue my recovery from my brain injury.

If I did not have to worry about money I would sell everything an become a missionary. Life is so short. There is so much to do. I am waiting on the Lord for His direction. All I want to do is serve. Pray for me.

As a younger person I paid no attention to these three words "Lord Use Me" but today it has become a firm foundation and a bright flashing light in my sight.
When ever I see that Light I know the pathway is clear and it's time to act in Spirit and in Prayer and when I do I see myself planted like a tree by the rivers edge winning souls for Jesus Christ and bearing good fruits.
Today "USE ME LORD" is the center piece of my Life and I give God thanks for using me.
God Bless.
