Share - It's your time to share

We are introducing a new section to the site.  It is called 'Share'.  The idea here is to post what God has been speaking to you about this week.  God may have given you a word that might bless someone.  Maybe you heard a good message or saw a good video.  Maybe you want to share with us what is going on in your life.  This section is for you.  Enjoy.

God Bless
Andrew

Oh yeah...and I just wanted to add that last week when I was feeling really discouraged, Dawn posted a comment on the previous 'Talk Tuesday'. She shared scripture with me, through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Can I tell you that it blessed my socks off and chased the 'blues' away?! Yes, it did!!! So, please, please feel free to share the WORD the LORD has laid on your heart. Let us being to, "Strengthen the the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, 'Be strong, do not fear; your God will come.' " Isaiah 35:3-4

Blessings/Bendiciones!!

Tash and I looked at the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir DVD yesterday and we were so blessed. It is amazing to hear the different testimonies from people in the church. Borrow it from your church library. You will be blessed.

It's Missions Convention time, and our church has lofty goals to help some of God's workers around the world. Although worthy, it's always hard to give sacrificially - ie much more than the weekly tithe. But this year has been especially difficult with a lean chequing account and strict budgeting.

During last Sunday's service I distinctly 'heard' from the Lord to give with a cheerful heart. And not from the chequing account but from the savings! I even heard the amount. Unfortunately when I discussed it with my mate - he didn't feel the same. We haven't yet agreed to give more.

Hey Bleeding Heart,

Continue to pray for your husband. As he is the head of the home in Christ and the two of you must come in agreement, pray for the Lord to bring that same word of confirmation to his heart as He did to yours. Then wait and see the Lord move.

Thanks for sharing!
A Christian Wife :-)

Hi Andrew and Tash:

It says to share - So I share what the Lord has impressed upon my heart. You guys just keep your eyes focused on Jesus Christ rather than your circumstances. There is nothing in this universe beyond His reach. No arms are too short or too long to box with God. So when you feel depressed or your spirit feels low, recall the ways the Lord has helped you in the past. Think, think, and think! God has never failed you yet, not one time, and He never will--His promise to his spiritual children is rock solid. He has also promised to always be with you—to guide, to protect and to comfort you through all your trials; to supply your every need as you walk with him in total obedience to his word. Giving thanks to the creator is one of the most powerful things you and I can ever do as believers. We must in faith believe that He is working on behalf of those who trust and wait for Him. God answers the prayers of the righteous in accordance with his timetable and not ours.

Without prayer—no matter what else he has—the Christian soldier’s life will be feeble and ineffective and constitute him an easy prey for his spiritual enemies.

Tis not enough to bend the knee,
And words of prayer to say;
The heart must with the lips agree,
Or else we do not pray

"Be blessed and walk with the King today". This quote is from the late Rev. Cook.

Hi everyone, I would like to share something I read this weekend, which I have heard in other words before but which really spoke to me ... and I put what I read into practice immediately ... it was something in a book by Beth Moore ... I have had the book for quite a while but never read it cover to cover yet... God in His mercy caused me to pick it up and read what I will share with you now...

In a nutshell, in every circumstance, especially one that is troubling to you, first CRY OUT to the Lord (audibly) ... let your actual VOICE be heard in His sanctuary...pour our your concern to Him ... while expressing CONFIDENCE that He hears you...using both your own words and the Scriptures.

Then CONFESS the truth of God's Word about that circumstance or those events ... also aloud if and when possible ...declare what His Word says to be true and acknowledge aloud before God that you are going to wait upon Him for His manifest answer, help, deliverance, comfort, whatever it might be. Also CONFESS whatever you know to be wrong actions on your part that may have contributed in any way, or anything you might have failed to do, or anything He brings to mind ... even INVITE the Lord to search you and reveal hidden things that need to be confessed also ... not as an exercise in condemnation, but as a way of unplugging any blocks in communication and drawing nearer and nearer to the Father who loves you and wants to be ever closer to you.

Finally, CONSENT aloud to whatever God wants to do in that circumstance ... acknowledge His wisdom and power to change you, to change the circumstance, to intervene...to bring about a glorious ending according to His will and purpose. CONSENT to obey Him when He shows you what to do ... CONSENT to watch and wait for His leading and to respond to it. CONSENT to not worry in the meantime as you wait. CONSENT to the good work God wants to do in you or in the circumsance.

Cry out, confess and consent ESPECIALLY when you don't feel like it ... and watch God work, and the enemy retreat!

Press on!

Beloved,

Thanks for sharing what you learned from Beth Moore. I think I'm going to try to put this one into practise.

Blessings Everyone.
I was once again pleased to see an exciting new development such as this on the B.G.O.site. I have chosen to share an interesting point that our Pastor made during his message last Sunday. His theme for the message was that our God is omnipresent as He promised in Genesis. In Genesis 28:10- 36:43, it tells the story of Jacob's dream, and Pastor Lott pointed out that particularly in verse 12 "As he slept he dreamt of a stairway that reached from Earth to Heaven. And that there were angels going up and down on it.13: "At the top of the stairway stood the Lord, and He said, "I am the Lord, the God of your grandfathers...15:What is more, I will be with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. I will someday bring you back to thiws land. I will be with you constantly until I have fdinished giving you everything I have promised." Pastor Lott then drew our atention to the fact that this story iz often thought of as Jacob's ladder. but in actual fact there is no need to climb it because it is a "a STAIRWAY from Earth to Heaven, and he saw ANGELS OF GOD GOING UP AND DOWN IT", and that the Lord finds a way to come down to our level with his I have managed to paraphrase Pastor's message in a way that will speak meaningfully to my B.G.O. brothers and sisters. Until next time.

Once again Pastor Lott gave a meaningful message this week, so I'll share the points he made with my fellow B.G.O.ers as best I can. He pointed out that we are commanded to "Make a joyful noise", and showed us a video of a father who was filming his baby laughing for various reasons that the father inspired in different ways. It was impossible not to feel joy and laugh with the child! We noted that the child had done nothing to deserve the joy it's father caused him to feel, yet the father continued to cause him to feel it! He then went on to make the point that we ought to make it a point to "smell the roses" more often, and showed us a rose and described how beautiful God's handiwork is as we looked at it. These were just two examples of how oustandingly beautiful His creation is and we should therefore praise Him for at least three reasons even if we are feeling particularly discouraged for somne reason.1) It gets us to take the attention off of ourselves and our difficulties, and focus on the ultimate PROBLEM-SOLVER! Studies have shown that focused people are the happiest, so it makes sense to focus on our Heavenly Father as much as possible!

2)It produces an attitude of gratitude, and

3) It pleases God!

According to 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, we should "be intentional in everything we do", so we should praise Him to the best of our abilities whenever possible!

If we make it our intention to praise Him as He says our difficulties and troubles will no longer have power over us, which is another of the main reasons to praise Him wholeheartedly!
