Talk Tuesday-'Tis The Season

'Tis the season to be...busy?! As the countdown to Christmas Day begins, the temptation to get caught up in the commercial frenzy of the season may seem almost irresistible. While we are hunting around for the latest bargains, checking names off our list, and getting ready to eat our Christmas-full of meals, there are those for whom Christmas will be difficult, painful and uncomfortable. Let us begin to meditate on the real reason for the season, the birth of our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST. What did it mean for Mary? What did it mean for the children of Israel? What does it mean for you and me?

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14

Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Luke 1:30-32

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:13-14

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Lord Jesus, help us to know you more. Help us to live out your purpose for our lives here on earth. May we be agents of peace and love this Christmas season, allowing your light to shine forth from our hearts, illuminating the way to salvation which is found solely in you. In Your name we pray, amen.

I am truly blessed by your post. I have prayed the prayer with you. Thank you to a beautiful couple in Christ.
The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Blessings for 2013
