Talk Tuesday- Everything Under the Sun

Last week as my dad was driving me to school, we began to reminisce about the past. We were laughing as warmhearted memories shaped our conversation when my father began to ponder the meaning behind the fleeting years that once seemed as though they would last forever. He paused, then quietly said, “The years pass so quickly. I wonder what GOD is trying to tell us.” I began to ponder the meaning of this statement.

The Psalmist says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

“As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.” Psalm 103:15-16

As I cycle back to my father's question, I think about how I was once young, and now I am older. I take stock of the things that I have done and I wonder, what are their worth? I realize now that whatever is done for the LORD, in the LORD and through the LORD is worth more than gold. If we are parents, let us raise our children to love the LORD wholeheartedly-it will carry an everlasting blessing from generation to generation. If we are married, let us endeavour to love our spouses as Christ loves the church. If we are single, let us use our time wisely to bring Him glory. "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the LORD and not to men, knowing that from the LORD you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the LORD CHRIST” Colossians 3:23-24.

Solomon the wealthiest and wisest king in all of Israel embarked upon a quest to discover the meaning of life. “Whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, for my heart rejoiced in all my labour; and this was my reward from all my labour. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done and on all the labour in which I had toiled; and indeed it was all vanity and grasping for the wind. There was no profit under the sun,” Ecclesiastes 2:10-11. He concluded that the meaning of all life could be found in the following words; "Fear GOD and keep His commandments, for this is man's all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil," Ecclesiastes 12:13-14.

And so I remember the words of our King Jesus: “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect,” Matthew 24:44.  “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing,” Matthew 24:45-46.

Let us give everything under the sun to the LORD, who will redeem our years for His honour and glory.

This post is replete with wisdom that only could have been God-given. Scripture says,'anyone who requires widom, let him ask God." Without a doubt you have asked God for wisdom, because the wisdom that resonates from this post could only have been given to you by God.
I am particularly touched by the following: "Whatever is done for the LORD, in the LORD and through the LORD is worth more than gold. If we are parents, let us raise our children to love the LORD wholeheartedly-it will carry an everlasting blessing from generation to generation. If we are married, let us endeavour to love our spouses as Christ loves the church. If we are single, let us use our time wisely to bring Him glory. "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the LORD and not to men, knowing that from the LORD you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the LORD CHRIST” Colossians 3:23-24I AM TRULY TOUCHED BY THIS POST! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY.
In the midst of trials and testings, I am encouraged to hang on with greater rosolve to my watchwords, "On Jesus Christ the ROCK, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand."
Once again, thank you. You have blessed me tremendously.

Yes, thank you BGO for keeping readers challenged with your writing! This morning in my spirit I was reminded that our time is indeed precious. Though certain seasons may seem to drag on, the timeless Lord is in each of them with us, walking with us. And a day to him is like 1,000 years and 1,000 years like a day. I am thankful that everything I do and every day of my life is precious to Him!
